Mitch is a licensed structural engineer (MT & ID) with over a decade of technical experience. Mitch loves to use his engineering skills to help homeowners and business owners bring their projects to life, and to help them navigate the process of planning, designing, and constructing a new residence or building. Mitch prides himself on communication, technical precision, and flexibility of design. He does his best to turn projects around quickly and works diligently with the clients to meet their specific needs. Mitch is based in Missoula, Montana where he lives with his wife and two daughters.

Mitch has a masters degree in structural engineering from the University of Minnesota. He started his career at a large firm in Montana performing structural engineering on commercial projects - everything from airports, hospitals, and apartments to industrial structures and governmental facilities. During that time though, Mitch began to lose the connection to the clients and the story behind the buildings. He found himself looking for something new. Knowing that there was a market of smaller-scale projects that deserved dedicated time and attention, Mitch decided to go out on his own. After finding meaningful projects and developing relationships with clients, HB Engineering was born. Now, Mitch gets to use his skills to help people and finds much more fulfillment in the work.
